Overview of the Role:
The Office of the Military Accountant General (MAG), functioning under the Ministry of Defence, is responsible for maintaining financial records, auditing accounts, and managing payroll/pensions for defense services. As a Junior Auditor (BPS-11), you will play an essential role in auditing vouchers, maintaining ledgers, managing military disbursement accounts, and ensuring strict compliance with financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit & Verification: Auditing bills, vouchers, traveling allowances, and procurement documents of military units.
- Bookkeeping & Accounts: Maintaining ledger entries, preparing monthly account statements, and reconciling bank figures.
- Payroll & Pension Processing: Assisting in the computation of salaries, allowances, and pension benefits for defense personnel.
- Record Archiving: Systematically organizing financial files and compliance reports for higher-level audit reviews.
Eligibility Criteria (Standard MAG Rules):
- Qualification: Intermediate (FA / FSc / ICS / I.Com) or equivalent qualification from a recognized board (Preference is often given to candidates with Commerce or Computer knowledge).
- Age Limit: 18 to 30 years (including standard 5-year general age relaxation provided under Federal Government rules).
